Low Income Septic Fix-up Grants
Becker County was awarded a grant from the Clean Water Fund (MN Stat. Ch. 114D) which can be used to replace eligible subsurface sewage
treatment systems (SSTS).
Low income households with an existing septic system that has been deemed non-compliant are eligible to apply for up to $7500 in cost
share assistance from the program.
Low Interest Loans
The AgBMP Loan Program provides low-interest (3%) loans to rural landowners to encourage Best Management Practices that prevent or reduce
runoff and other pollution problems identified by in the county's local water plan, such as non-compliant septic systems.
Applications are made to the SWCD to determine project eligibility. If a project is deemed eligible, you then work with
a participating lender to execute the loan.
