An ordinance is governmental authority law enacted by a municipal body, such as the County Board of Commissioners. Ordinances govern matters
not already covered by state or federal laws such as zoning, public safety and environmental regulations.
An ordinance will be enacted or amended at a required Public Hearing presided over by the Board of Commissioners. Before
enacting or amending an ordinance, a Notice of Public Hearing is published at least ten (10) days before the hearing takes place.
