Community Emergency Preparedness
Becker County Community Health and Becker County Emergency Management
have been working together with other community resources to develop a
plan to address and respond to potential hazards including natural
disasters, disease outbreaks including pandemic influenza, hazardous
chemical spills or an intentional terrorist act. With considerable
direction from the Minnesota Department of Health, Centers for Disease
Control, Homeland Security and local resources, plans are in progress to
protect the residents of Becker County from such threats. No plan is
ever complete! Ongoing efforts by local public health, hospital
officials, clinics, law enforcement and Emergency management meet as the
Public Health Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee to revise plans
as necessary.
All individuals and families are encouraged to have an emergency plan
that addresses how you will communicate with each other during an event
and plans that ensure personal safety. Listen to the radio and
television for updates regarding an event.
