The rationale for the rating was in part due to Becker County's strong management, budget performance and reserves. Becker County has very strong budgetary flexibility and very strong liquidity with total government available cash at 50.3% of total governmental fund expenditures. The County also showed a very strong debt and contingent liability position, with debt service carrying charges at less than 1% of expenditures. This is the second time in recent years that Standard and Poors have given Becker County a strong financial rating.
